Aujan Mehregan
Aujan is a structural biologist who enjoys combining engineering and biology, particularly in protein engineering and synthetic biology. Currently, he works as an Inside Sales Manager at Nuclera, where he shares Nuclera's innovative protein engineering solutions with scientists and organizations alike, addressing common challenges such as the need for multiple iterations to identify the right expression and solubility conditions for proper protein folding and activity. Aujan promotes the eProtein Discovery platform, a benchtop system that uses cell-free protein expression to accelerate protein synthesis and screening, addressing many of the challenges of traditional methods. Aujan is particularly interested in how the combination of microfluidics and protein engineering can advance synthetic biology, enabling researchers to optimize protein stability, function, and interactions. He is passionate about applying these approaches to areas such as drug discovery, industrial enzyme production, and understanding complex biological systems.

Microfluidics in Synthetic Biology: Life on a Chip
-
Scientists, engineers, and innovators from academia and industry will discuss the transformative role of microfluidics in enabling high-throughput screening, precise control of cellular microenvironments, and the development of 'organs-on-a-chip.' Our panel will cover pioneering microfluidic platforms, their integration with synthetic biology for enhanced biological insight, and their potential in personalized medicine, drug discovery, and environmental monitoring. This session will delve into how the merging of engineering and biology at the microscale is revolutionizing our ability to understand and manipulate life at the cellular level.
