Kareem Barghouti

Kareem has been part of the startup ecosystem since college, leading to a successful exit from his first tech venture and contributing to another that was acquired by Google for $450M. He co-led the development and launch of a product across Europe. Driven by his personal experience with inflammatory disease, Kareem founded Pragma Bio in 2019 to leverage synthetic biology in mining small molecules from gut microbes. This has led to the discovery of a lead program to improve patient care in the IBD space.
