Sojung Park
Sojung Park is a seasoned expert in life sciences, with over 15 years of experience in strain development, biotechnology, and project management. She currently serves as a Project Manager at CJ CheilJedang, leading the company’s precision fermentation-based CDMO business. She holds a Master’s degree in Animal Physiology from Sogang University, where she conducted research on drugs affecting calcium channels. She began her career as a strain development researcher at CJ CheilJedang, spending eight years engineering production strains for nucleic acids, amino acids, and vitamins. During this time, she contributed to multiple patent filings and received awards for excellence in strain development. Leveraging her deep expertise in biotechnology, she transitioned into project management, playing a pivotal role in establishing CJ CheilJedang’s CDMO business. As an early team member, she has been instrumental in engaging global partners, structuring partnership models, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. Her expertise includes managing strategic collaborations, facilitating seamless communication, and ensuring technical excellence in project execution, from contract structuring to operational oversight. At SynBioBeta, Sojung will share CJ CheilJedang’s journey in precision fermentation-based CDMO and provide insights into successful industry partnerships. She will discuss best practices in project management, customer collaboration strategies, and the evolving role of CDMO services in the synthetic biology landscape.
